    Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a wide pan with a teaspoon of salt.

    Add the pasta and stir occasionally so it doesn't clump. Cook until the water has nearly evaporated and the noodles are al dente — about 9 minutes.

    Push pasta to one side, add olive oil, sliced garlic and chili flakes. Sizzle for 30 seconds, then toss everything together with the lemon zest and juice.

    Tear in the basil, taste, adjust salt, and serve at once.
